I.AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
* Language Content:
- To introduce some new words relating to the text about Marie Curie’s background.
* Language Function:
- To help students read and master the content of the passages and improve their communicative ability.
- To enable students to practice matching, deciding on True-False statements and asking & answering questions more effectively.
* Educational Aim:
- To teach them to be proud of Marie Curie’s life and achievements.
1. Language:
+ Vocabulary: harbour, research, found.
+ Structure : To-infinitive.
2. Skills: Integrated skills ( especially reading skill)
3. Educational factor :
- Educating the students to try their best to study hard and get good results .

2. Techniques : pair work, group work, explanation, translation, example, repetition, ask-answer questions, pre-questions, matching, True/False statement, Comprehension questions.

Activity1:
- Gets the students to play a game like the game “Musical Game” on VTV3.
- Sticks a picture hidden behind 3 numbers which consists of 3 questions.

- Opens each piece of the numbered paper one by one if the students’ answers are correct
- Leads to the lesson.
PRE-READING
- Gets the Ss to discuss in pairs with the questions:
1. Can you name some scientists and their specializations ?
2. Have you ever heard of Marie Curie?
3. What do you know about her ?



- Has three pairs to ask and answer those questions.
- Helps them to correct mistakes if necessary.
- Helps them know the meaning of some key words.


- Asks them to complete the sentences using those words.
WHILE-READING
Task1:
- Asks the Ss to read the reading passage in silence and do Task1 (individual first and then compare their answers with their partner)

Task 2:
- Asks the Ss to work in pairs and predict whether the statements are true (T) or false(F).
- Asks the Ss to reread the passage and decide if they are true or false. At the same time asks them to correct the false information.
- Sets a definite time to encourage the Ss to work effectively.
